Created by Marie Laffort, ANCIEN was born out of a reverence for craftsmanship, history, and design.
Marie’s appreciation for old objects took root in childhood. As her family restored the historic home she grew up in, the experience sparked an early fascination with preservation and the joy of discovery found through antiquing. Inspired by her father’s creative pursuits, she developed a deep respect for the handmade and timeworn, and an enduring sensitivity to the details that make old objects worth preserving.
With a background in fashion and an intuitive eye for design, Marie taught herself to repair and revive the pieces she found—often working late into the night to restore what time had worn away.
